The following case is extracted from “The Art of Applying Comprehensive Metaphysics” Grand Dharma Function in Malaysia on 28 August 2011. Master Lu performed Totem Enquiries live on stage and answered questions from the audience to help them overcome difficulties in their health, career, and everyday issues.
When a person is asking Master Lu to perform Totem Enquiry, if a living person is being enquired, then the year of birth and the Chinese zodiac sign of that person should be stated. If a deceased person is being enquired, then the full name of the deceased and the exact written characters of the name should be stated.

Enquirer: Respected Master Lu. Hi.
Master Lu: Hi.
Enquirer: I would like to ask you to perform Totem Enquiry for me. Born in 1966, year of the Snake.
Master Lu: 1966, year of the Snake. What would you like to ask?
Enquirer: Any foreign spirits occupying my body?
Master Lu: Yes. On the lower back. Your lower back is not good.
Enquirer: How many Little Houses is suitable?
Master Lu: For this location, 12 Little Houses should be enough. Let me tell you, you should be careful. You have a lot of mental knots, or issues that weigh heavily on your mind. You haven’t untied your knots. In other words, in the past, people have deceived you or treated you badly, and you haven’t forgotten about them. Do you understand? Forget about it. You must forget about it. Okay? You see? Just now I blessed you, and you are smiling immediately. Forget about it, otherwise you will have minor depression. Enquirer: I would like to ask about a person born in 1994, year of the Dog.
Master Lu: 1994, year of the Dog, male or female?
Enquirer: Male.
Master Lu: What would you like to ask?
Enquirer: His studies and his future.
Master Lu: So about his academic performance in the future, right?
Enquirer: Yes.
Master Lu: 1994, year of the Dog. Hm, smart. Very smart. But he doesn’t study.
Enquirer: That’s right.
Master Lu: Everything else is fine. Do you understand? He can still be considered to show filial piety. He still listens to you sometimes.
Enquirer: That’s correct.
Master Lu: Okay.

Master Lu: Ah-yo, you can’t ask anymore. Each person can only ask about two Totems. Alright?
