Master Lu:
You are very clever; you can absolutely do that.
The Wen Chang Position

Is my Wen Chang Position correct?
Master Lu:
Your Wen Chang Position should be fine as long as it’s a very bright place. You may put it on the left-hand side of the study desk over where the sun shines.
Caller:
Do I just need to expose the left side of the study desk to light?
Master Lu:
Yes, a lamp can also count if there’s no sunlight.
Caller:
I see.
Master Lu:
Recite Buddhist scriptures diligently. You can kneel and bow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Wen Chang Bodhisattva and pray for their blessings before an exam.
The changes in the Wen Chang Position

It’s said that the children’s Wen Chang Position changes every year, is it true?
Master Lu:
Yes. As with Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Wen Chang Bodhisattva is also a title for the Bodhisattva in charge of scholastic performance. Thus, the Wen Chang Position changes every year according to the feng shui that year.
Caller:
Are they on duty on a rotational basis as well?
Master Lu:
Unlike the rotating shifts of Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Wen Chang Bodhisattva is one Bodhisattva. But the feng shui and position changes yearly.
The Wen Chang Position has blessed my child with an excellent scholastic performance and enabled her to enter the best middle school in the province

In one of your radio programs in 2012, you mentioned the Wen Chang Position. Though I didn’t understand the meaning, we coincidently arranged the position during renovation. Since then, my daughter’s study has been very good, and she entered the best middle school in our province. I didn’t know why she performed so well. I went to a local temple and drew a fortune stick which read “Holy joy, the Wen Chang looks after your destiny”. I thought she just had an affinity with Wen Chang Bodhisattva. I only realised the efficacy of the Wen Chang Position after listening to your radio program. I have been using this way to teach other students’ parents about the effect of the Wen Chang Position, teaching them how to arrange the position, practise Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, and recite sutras. I told them their children would have very good academic performance following these practices. Can I do that, Master?
Master Lu:
Yes. Some people can be silly sometimes and don’t take my words seriously. The program you listened to was recorded in 2012, but do you know how long I’ve been telling people this? I’ve been telling people this since 2011.
Caller:
I realised what the Wen Chang Position meant after listening to the program.
Master Lu:
The Wen Chang Position is very important.
